Reclaiming Yourself after Domestic Violence | Tulsi Wellness
Have you noticed that even though the danger has passed, your body hasn’t quite caught up?
You may be functioning well on the outside, caring for others, meeting responsibilities, doing what needs to be done, yet inside you still feel tense, alert, or deeply fatigued in a way that rest doesn’t fully resolve.
This is a common and understandable response following domestic or systemic violence.
It does not mean you are broken, weak, or failing to “move on.”
When someone has lived under prolonged stress, control, or threat, the nervous system learns to stay on guard. Learning how to feel steady again is not about pushing harder, it’s about creating the right conditions for safety to return.
Reclaiming Yourself After Domestic Violence is a grounded, trauma-informed seminar designed to support women to regulate their nervous system, rebuild self-trust, and reconnect with themselves without pressure and without having to explain their story.
This seminar may be right for you if:
You feel constantly on edge, even when life feels calmer now
You notice fatigue, hyper-vigilance, or emotional numbness that rest doesn’t fix
You’ve done “the right things” but still don’t feel settled in your body
You want tools that help you feel safer within yourself, not strategies that push you beyond your limits
This is a quiet, respectful space where your nervous system is given permission to soften.
Many women leave this seminar feeling:
More settled and present in their body
Reassured that their responses make sense
Better equipped to regulate stress when it arises
More connected to themselves, with a renewed sense of gentleness and self-trust
This seminar is about returning to the parts of you that were interrupted by survival.
Facilitated by Brittni Akom, founder of The Skillful Mama, whose work centres on supporting women and families through trauma-informed, practical, and compassionate approaches grounded in lived experience.
